Further developed

Dear Readers

The article “Tracking” (p. 64) describes a newly developed alternative for quality assurance: Small ‘smart tags’ and even smaller mini and micro ‘RFID tags’ make it possible to track exactly the course of the ore from blasting and crushing up to the further processing steps. Thus, the local composition of the ore can be analyzed as can the effectiveness of the processing steps and the retention time of the ore at the individual stations. The micro RFID tags just being developed offer the advantage that they can even pass screens with aperture widths of 10 mm.
