Innovative action

Dear Readers

Limestone is one of the most important raw materials for the building materials industry. From p. 83 you will be informed about the possibilities offered by the sensitive optical sorting technology in the tough service conditions in a limestone preparation plant. SCHAEFER KALK GmbH & Co. KG for example uses REDWAVE sorters to ensure constant high quality in the particle fractions for burning.

The increasing use of vertical roller mills for limestone grinding is also innovative. The LOESCHE vertical roller mill, type LM 19.2 ensures efficient grinding with wide-ranging product finenesses and high energy efficiency (from p. 63). Dr. Joachim Harder reports on trends in the grinding of non-ferrous metal ores from p. 50.

Finally good luck and congratulations to HAVER & BOECKER OHG, who have developed into a global player since their foundation 125 years ago – certainly not least due to their innovative decisions (interview from p. 38).

Our conference announcements (from p. 16) refer to an interesting autumn – but read yourself!
