Plant set-up in record time
In Crailsheim everything’s now set for the production of German-built compact machines with the Terex label for the global market. A multi-million Euro investment at the site has seen the set-up of highly efficient, state-of-the-art production facility (Fig.), which includes a highly modern paint shop, steel engineering and prototyping equipment. The investments at the Crailsheim site have been geared to the production of 5000 machines and more per year, explains Brian Heathcote, who, as Vice President of very important EMEAR region (Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia), is responsible for one of the key sales markets for compact machines. Crailsheim has so far built the complete series of Terex wheel loaders. But synergies are to be utilized to enable the central production of mini excavators, midi and mobile excavators as well as hydraulic transverse cutters and the merging of the research and development departments at the site.
