Metso to supply Tampa Electric Company

Metso will supply two identical bucket wheel stacker reclaimers (Fig.) to Tampa Electric Company’s Big Bend Station, Apollo Beach, Florida/USA. These two new machines will replace existing equipment of Metso that has been in operation for over 40 years. Total order value is approximately 11.9 million €. According to the new contract, Metso will design, furnish, manufacturer, shop test, inspect, package, store and handle the two identical traveling bucket wheel stacker reclaimers prior to arriving on site. All necessary equipment, accessories, controls and components will be provided for complete operation. The first machine (North) is scheduled for commissioning in May of 2013. The second (South) machine is respectively scheduled for commissio­ning in the fourth quarter of 2013. Stacking and reclaiming capacities are designed to handle 4400 t/h on each of the two identical bucket wheel stacker reclaimers. The reclaim capacity can be a variable of 1100 to 4400 t/h depending on the current requirements needed. These machines will be used by Tampa Electric for stacking and reclaiming coal and petcoke.
