Germany and the world

Dear Readers

At present Brazil is in the focus for sports fans - the world will be looking towards this country in South America during the football world championships 2014 and the Olympic Summer Games in 2016. We are glad to be among the fans. What is the present state of the mining industry in Brazil and what are the development trends? Read the article by Dr. Joachim Harder “Optimism” beginning on page 54.

Another highlight will take place in Dortmund – right on our doorstep (at Gütersloh we have a certain advantage). From 21st to 22nd May, the SOLIDS Dortmund and RECYCLING-TECHNIK 2014 will open its gates. Here for the second time, the existing synergies in many areas will be used in the bulk solids handling sector and in the field of recycling. In three halls 400 exhibitors will show the latest products and developments. You can get a little foretaste of the fair in our bulk solids special from page 18 or at our homepage at //www.at-onlin" target="_blank" >www.at-onlin:www.at-online.info/de/specials.

In addition to these two main topics, there are still many other interesting articles you should read, e.g. “Sorted” (p. 66) dealing with the recovery of building materials and “Long distances, high performance” (p. 75) describing the latest developments in the field of belt conveyors.

Wishing you enjoyable reading
