TAKRAF’s Philadelphia office tastes first dryer unit success

T‌AKRAF USA‘s Philadelphia office has recently been awarded a contract for the design and supply of a Roto-Louvre® Dryer to process sodium metabisulfite material for an important client in Texas. This is the first dryer unit that is designed and supplied under the TAKRAF brand name, following the acquisition of FMC Technologies‘ Material Handling Systems division by TAKRAF at the end of 2016, which brought with it over 75 years of experience in the field of rotary dryers and coolers.

The project included the replacement of an older Roto-Louvre® model # 310-16, which was supplied in 1950 by FMC Technologies (formerly Link Belt). The improved design of the supplied TAKRAF dryer follows modern design principles and safety standards. A number if detail changes improves the dryer efficiency. The Roto-Louvre® is a specialized, compact and versatile dryer, which allows the gentle and efficient treatment of bulk material. Moreover, the maintenance requirements are extremely low. The Roto-Louvre® dryer is an excellent solution if homogeneous drying of the bulk material is required.

The Roto-Louvre® is a specialized, compact and versatile vessel that facilitates the gentle and efficient processing of bulk material; as well as boasting low machine maintenance requirements. A Roto-Louvre Dryer® is the best option to pursue when uniform drying is an important requirement. The new Roto-Louvre Dryer along with all the ancillary equipment shipped and arrived at the jobsite in January of 2018. During the month of February, the customer self-performed the installation and commissioning of the unit with technical support from TAKRAF USA. The installation process went smoothly without any major issues or delays. Since then the dryer has been running smoothly and the customer is extremely satisfied. Recently, the customer reached out to us to personally thank us for our support throughout the project especially during installation and start-up.

“The trademarked Roto-Louvre brand now belongs exclusively to TAKRAF. We believe this recent dryer award is the first of many for the ‘Dryers & Coolers’ segment of our business, and we are excited to include and boast this new product line under the TAKRAF brand”, said Tom Gramling, TAKRAF USA President.
