New association established in Weimar

A new association with the name “Aufbereitung von Baustoffen und Wiederverwertung e. V.” (“Processing of Building Materials and Reuse Regd.”), “ABW e.V.” for short, is an independent group of people devoted to the subject of building materials recycling. The association has evolved out of the Department of Processing of Building Materials and Reuse, ABW for short, which was established at Bauhaus University of Weimar in 1995. Multifaceted and innovative research into building material research has been developed there under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Anette Müller (Fig.). “ABW e. V.” made its debut at the Recycling ’10 conference, which was held from 22.-23.09.2010 in Weimar and was already the sixth event in this series. The topics presented, such as research findings on the development of lightweight granulate from masonry rubble, CO2 reduction with selective carbonation or concrete recyclate and on traditional and innovative separating processes for building rubble, illustrate the association’s objectives very well.
