Castolin strengthened

Castolin Eutectic has announced its acquisition of the UK-based Monitor Coatings Group. With the takeover of the UK coatings specialist, Castolin is strengthening its own position as worldwide market leader for application solutions in maintenance, repair and wear protection (Fig.). Monitor Coatings has been a leading player in coating technology for over thirty years. The UK company with facilities in Singapore and China provides specialized abrasion and corrosion protection for the aerospace, oil and gas exploration and steel industries. Castolin Eutectic, a member of the MEC Group, is one of the leading supplier in welding, brazing and thermal spraying. Castolin’s new services portfolio brings together customer-specific solutions in repair, maintenance and wear protection under the name “CastoLab Services”. The acquisition also gives Castolin Eutectic a leading role in process development for thermal spraying and hard-facing coatings.  Castolin Eutectic currently employs more than 1400 technicians and specialists in 25 countries.
