A new year is ahead of us with im-portant fairs, such as the Steinexpo 2014 and the POWTECH 2014, which we will again accompany with special fair issues (7-8/2014 and 9/2014). The first one will be the easyFairs Schüttgut 2014 that will take place in Dortmund from 21 to 22 May 2014 (p. 29). We will present the products and innovations shown there in our issue 4/2014. Also in 2014 we will offer survey articles by Dr. Harder covering economic and technical topics, such as Market survey Brazil, Coal as an energy source – a political decision?, Water management in mines and future of mineral resources – how reliable are the long-term estimates? Already this issue includes interesting reading matter, amongst other things, a report on Tantalum in Latin America (p. 60).
