Preparation plant at Saar Mine

The work for disassembly of the preparation plant at the disused Saar Mine in Saarlouis/Germany, started at the end of February 2013. German RAG Mining Solutions GmbH had previously sold the entire processing machinery to a Croatian enterprise on behalf of and for the account of German RAG Aktiengesellschaft. RAG Mining Solutions was once again able to capitalise on a complete preparation plant with the business transaction. In 2011, the preparation plant at the Ost mine was already sold to a Chinese customer and also disassembled by this enterprise. Most recently, also the Lippe Mine preparation plant could be sold to a Chinese customer. The disassembly work there will be started in the course of 2013.

Not even a year after the closure of the mine the entire plant component of the former Saar Mine for processing raw coal was thereby sold abroad. The Croatian customer Rasko d.o.o. intends to sell the plants to various end customers later. Included in the package are all plant components such as screening plants, crushers, jiggers, pumps, switchgears/controls as well as cables and lines. The disassembly and dismantling for removal will take place in a planned period of ten months. A total of about 22 skilled workers employed by the purchaser will be entrusted with these jobs.
