The Urban Mining Congress, organised by Urban Mining e.V., is in its sixth edition, and the RECYCLING-TECHNIK is taking place in Dortmund for the third time. “The affinity between these topics provides ideal conditions for both events to grow further,” says Daniel Eisele, the Event Director at Easyfairs responsible for RECYCLING-TECHNIK 2015. “By now, we have got over 150 providers of technical solutions in the area of recycling, as well as 20 lectures in the forum. With the Urban Mining Congress, we have an additional substantial industrial theme coming to Dortmund, which offers recycling experts even more value,” concludes Eisele.
Against a backdrop of ever-scarcer feedstocks, the central theme of the 6th Urban Mining Congress, “Rethinking Resources – The City as a Mine for Raw Materials”, focuses on the optimal methods of reclaiming used commodities. As global resources become tighter and more expensive, urban mining gains in importance. Scientists and entrepreneurs are developing innovative solutions for the recovery of metals and other recyclables. At the Urban Mining Congress, experts from science, commerce and politics will present their scientific findings and innovations.
“In this new collaboration between our association and Easyfairs we see the ideal opportunity to position two well-established events side-by-side on the market,” remarks Dr Ernst J. Baumann, member of the board for Urban Mining e.V. “A renowned conference and a high-calibre trade show: the perfect symbiosis.”
