The 20th UGOL ROSSII & MINING, Russia’s most important Trade Fair for Mining Technology - Exploration, Underground Mining, Open-Cast Mining, Mineral Processing and Coal Preparation, featured more than 760 exhibitors from twenty-five countries (Fig.). Some 25 000 visitors took the opportunity of obtaining information on the industry’s latest technological developments at the Kuzbasskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre in Novokuznetsk from 4 to 7 June. The organisers, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and Kuzbass Fair, thus succeeded in holding Novokuznetsk’s largest and most international technical exhibition ever.
In addition to familiar names from the Russian Federation, 192 internationally renowned exhibitors from Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Norway, Poland, Russia, the USA, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Sweden showed their products on the total of 41 500 m2 of exhibition space. Also appearing were a number of joint stands, from the UK (ABMEC), Poland and the Czech Republic. A dozen exhibitors from North Rhine-Westphalia showed the state’s flag within a strong German presence, in the context of a small-group promotion – ideal boundary conditions for the maintenance and expansion of shares of the Russian market.
Occupational health and safety are current focal topics. Innovative technologies and know-how are in demand as never before, and the Russian government is now increasingly stipulating the use of effective safety provisions. Virtually all companies are investing in the expansion of their capacities. Against this background, some forty companies showed their technologies for early detection and prevention of explosive gas mixtures, along with personal safety equipment, at the UGOL ROSSII & MINING, in the context of the special “Safety and Health at Work” show, which also received support from the world’s lead fair, A+A 2013, Düsseldorf.
The 21st UGOL ROSSII & MINING is to be held in Novokuznetsk from 3 to 6 June 2014.
