AT MINERAL PROCESSING: What will be the highlight of this year’s steinexpo?

Dominik Rese: The live demonstrations of a wide variety of machines, systems and solutions – from 95-tonne excavators to digital AI-supported solutions – are certainly the highlight of this year’s steinexpo. Different products can be seen in real-world use across all areas of the exhibition grounds.

AT MINERAL PROCESSING: Quarry Vision 2.6 at steinexpo: What can visitors look forward to, and which innovative solutions will be showcased there?

Dominik Rese: This year, as part of the first-ever decentralised presentation of Quarry Vision 2.6, we have been able to showcase a wide variety of innovative solutions and developments. Alongside state-of-the-art assistance systems for hazard area monitoring with AI support, innovative feeding solutions in processing technology and practical remote control systems, solutions demonstrating the connectivity and collaboration between various assistance systems will also be on display.

This year, in consultation with numerous exhibitors in the Quarry Vision section, we have created a decentralised presentation format to showcase the individual solutions in their optimal environment. An overview of this can be found both in the steinexpoAPP and on site.

AT MINERAL PROCESSING: Can certain trends regarding new technologies, business areas, etc. be identified based on the exhibitor line-up?

Dominik Rese: Looking at the fields of activity of the companies represented, we can see that the current megatrends relating to sustainability, digitalisation and artificial intelligence are very strongly represented. It is certainly in these areas that the potential for further development is greatest. However, we also note that, unlike in many other sectors, practical benefit always takes precedence.

AT MINERAL PROCESSING: steinexpo has been taking place since 1990 – how has it developed, what remains of the original concept, and what has evolved?

Dominik Rese: steinexpo was established in the late 1980s with the aim of facilitating live demonstrations and thus offering a fundamental added value for trade visitors. This unique selling point, in this form, remains one of steinexpo’s core features.

In terms of the character of the exhibition venue, we have been able to implement numerous improvements over the past three and a half decades. Whether in terms of infrastructure – such as telecoms provision or transport links – the development of our promotional strategy for external presentation, or innovations in visitor management – notably the online ticketing system – there has been very significant progress when comparing individual editions.

AT MINERAL PROCESSING: Is steinexpo 2026 fully booked? What was the response from exhibitors?

Dominik Rese: Even in 2026, despite the difficult economic situation, we were able to record an increase in the number of exhibiting companies to 328 – a result with which we can certainly be satisfied. We have received a great deal of positive feedback from exhibitors and are delighted by the trust they have placed in us.

Dominik Rese: steinexpo is Europe’s unique live demonstration trade fair, showcasing technology right where it is needed.
