11th Expert Conference on Sensor-Based Sorting and Control – call for abstracts extended again

The organizing team expresses its gratitude for the great interest and the high-quality abstracts submitted so far. To allow additional contributors who have expressed their interest to finalize their submissions, the deadline for abstract submission has been extended by a short period until November 30th, 2025.

The participant registration portal will open soon.

Further details regarding registration fees and the preliminary conference program will be available on the website shortly.


Over two days in Aachen, representatives from industry and academia will present the latest developments and applications in automated separation and sensor-based sorting as well as innovative approaches for material monitoring and process optimization and control within the entire process chains of recycling and mineral processing.

We hereby invite you to submit covering one of the following topics, but not limited to:

  • Advancement of multi-sensors
  • Improvement in single particle detection
  • Methods of data processing and particle analysis
  • Deployment of sensors for online monitoring and process control
  • Utilization of data and information for increased plant efficiency, and
  • Optimization of peripheral processes.

Topics may refer to theoretical and practical aspects, methodological and empirical approaches as well as case studies and research activities. Application-oriented contributions are welcomed.

All accepted abstracts will be published in a printed abstract volume. In addition, selected contributions will have the opportunity to be published as full papers in a Special Issue of Sensors .

  • Please use the template available on our website www.sbsc.rwth-aachen.de for your abstract.
  • If you are interested in publishing in the Special Issue, please indicate this in the abstract template.
  • The abstract should be submitted in .docx format and emailed to info@sbsc.rwth-aachen.de with the subject line "SBSC 2026 Conference Abstract".
