A double première was scheduled for Hatz on March 14, 2018: as part of the distributor conference at the Crowne Plaza O'Hare in Chicago, the North American branch, Hatz Diesel of America, celebrated the start of series production of the 3H50TIC engine, the first of four different 3H50 variants that is available now.

Although a good 4500 miles separated the conference location and the production line in Ruhstorf an der Rott (South East Bavaria/Germany), participants could join in live and were able to follow the start of production of the 3H50TIC via live stream at www.hatz.com/3H50-SOP. This is because a live stream has been broadcasted in addition to the local event, a first for such an engine presentation.
H-series impresses with flexible application options

By consistently further developing and implementing its downsizing concept, Hatz has succeeded in setting benchmarks in both the four- and the three-cylinder variant of its H-series for industrial engines up to 62 kW. Compact and economical, robust and light in equal measure as well as gentle on the environment, the H engines achieve impressive power values despite their considerable weight and volume reductions in comparison with similar engine concepts. The 3H50 engines will also be available in further variants during the course of the year. Depending on application area and the applicable emissions standards, customers can also choose between the 3H50TI or the TICD variant (with turbocharger, intercooler, catalytic converter & particulate filter) that will also enter series production in 2018. Series production of the 3H50T is then scheduled to start in the spring of 2019.

The all-rounder qualities of the Hatz H-series are reflected in the current marketing campaign. "'The Applicationizer' is the central generic term for our H-series: an engine concept that no application can resist", explains Marketing Team Leader Stephan Gritsch. "Our H-series is suitable for a particularly high number of applications, and sets standards for different drive solutions in mobile and stationary compact machines. We want to express this versatility with the term 'The Applicationizer' and stylishly demonstrate this with a range of campaigns throughout the year."

Live stream event at the start of production
To mark the start of the 3H50TIC's production, Hatz decided to broadcast it as an internet live stream for the first time. Wolfram Hatz, Majority Shareholder and Chairman of the Advisory Board, and Stephan Gritsch were welcoming viewers shortly after 4 pm on March 14 and then took them away on an interesting journey through the development history of the H-series. Via a link to the production line, Martin Hain, Technical Sales Team Leader, and Matthias Hochleitner, Development Engineer H-series three-cylinder were presenting the highlights of the engine family in general and the new three-cylinder engines surrounding the 3H50TIC in particular, while the first series production engine have been completed on the line.

Wolfram Hatz: "As a foresighted solution for EU Stage V without particulate filter, the most compact H-series engine, the 3H50T with 18.4 kW, also offers the highest torque in its class, 130 Nm. At the upper end of the power range, our four-cylinder 4H50TI impresses with 62 kW and 265 Nm with a displacement of just 2l. I am certain that, not only with the three-cylinder versions, we have launched an engine concept onto the market that will continue to lastingly influence the development of working machines in the future."
