Postponed: MAWEV Show in St. Pölten

The current developments and the prevailing planning uncertainty due to the short-term regulations lead to a postponement of the MAWEV Show St. Pölten to April 10 to 13, 2024.

The MCG planned a brilliant 11th edition of the MAWEV Show in St. Pölten for 2022. With a move to a new site, the VAZ St. Pölten, Austria's most interesting large construction site with a massive range of construction machinery and accessories of the latest technology, with its ideal transport links, was to become even more exciting. In addition to the latest technology, a newly designed site and a completely redesigned and planned test track were to excite trade visitors and exhibitors alike.

The current COVID-19 situation as well as the related restrictions and the far too short-term ordinances, in addition to the general impact on the economy and the industry, are the factors that make it impossible to hold the MAWEV Show 2022, to the satisfaction of exhibitors and trade visitors. Therefore, in a meeting with the MAWEV Association Board of Directors, it was jointly decided to postpone the 11th MAWEV Show to April 10 to 13, 2024.

"We, together with our exhibitors and the MCG, saw the 11th MAWEV Show, scheduled for April 2022, as a new start this year with acceptable conditions for exhibitors and visitors. However, the pandemic with Omikron was stronger and does not leave us free to act yet. After evaluating the current situation in the MAWEV committees and coordinating with the MCG officials, we have come to the decision to postpone the 11th MAWEV Show to April 2024. This new date was chosen in order to ensure a high degree of planning security for all those involved in this very important event for Austria," explains Ing. Mag. Gerhard Egger, MAWEV chairman.

Armin Egger, Chairman of MCG Graz, says: "With great regret we have to realize that holding the MAWEV Show in 2022, as we, our trade exhibitors and our trade visitors imagine it, in the current situation – despite an excellent cooperation with the city of. St. Pölten – is not possible due to the still massive restrictions. After numerous discussions with exhibitors and a meeting with the MAWEV board, we unfortunately perceived a mood that does not allow the implementation of this trade fair. The desired economic success, joint networking and an active marketplace, as we wish for our exhibitors, partners and trade visitors, is not possible due to the current situation. This unfortunately forces us to postpone the 11th MAWEV Show to 2024" Armin Egger, MCG Graz board member.

"Just like our exhibitors and partners, we were looking forward tremendously to the MAWEV Show 2022 and put all our energy and strength into holding the show under economically good conditions. Unfortunately, the tentative opening steps of the government come too late and are also too little to enable a success-oriented exchange of the construction industry. It is therefore with a heavy heart that we postpone until 2024 and hope for better general conditions. Our thanks go to the exhibitors and partners who fought together with us until the very end to ensure that the trade fair could take place," says Mag. Alexandra Schäfer, trade fair management.
