Resand strengthens its position in the DACH market through a five year agreement with AGVS Aluminium Werke GmbH

Resand Ltd, a Finnish technology company specializing in environmentally friendly foundry sand regeneration and recycling, has signed a five-year cooperation agreement with AGVS Aluminium Werke GmbH (AGVS), one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of aluminium sand casting and low-pressure die casting products. The agreement was signed in February 2026 and entered into force immediately thereafter.

Under the agreement, AGVS will implement Resand’s sand regeneration solution, which includes an innovative Sand-As-A-Service (SAAS) business model. Sand regeneration will take place at AGVS’s foundry in Villingen-Schwenningen, after which the sand can be reused in foundry processes. The goal is to regenerate approximately 9,000 tonnes of foundry sand annually, covering both green and cold-box sand used in AGVS’ production processes.

“We chose to partner with Resand because their technology was readily available and supported by a proven track record and a cost-efficient SAAS-service model. The primary objective of the cooperation is to significantly reduce our dependency on virgin sand deliveries. By reclaiming sand on site, we can reduce the consumption of virgin sand, lower transport-related emissions, and minimize waste sand sent to landfill,” says AGVS Aluminium Werke GmbH.

”We are very delighted about the agreement with AGVS, representing an important step forward for us in the DACH market,” says Mikko Immonen, CEO of Resand. ”AGVS is a key customer operating in a demanding production environment and serving a strong customer portfolio across multiple industries. This cooperation once again demonstrates the broad applicability of our technology across the foundry sector, delivering significant cost savings and long-term operational resilience for our customers.”
