bauma 2013 – 570 000 m² of innovative spirit

The international trade fair will feature from 15.- 21.04.2013 an even more extensive range of exhibits on an enlarged 570 000 m2 of exhibition space with more than 3300 exhibitors than has been the case before (Fig. 1). All leading companies and all branches of industry are represented. bauma’s entire range of exhibits covers all around construction sites, mining, extraction and processing of raw materials, production of building materials, as well as component and service suppliers.

The trade fair offers different platforms for valuable encounters. The industry gathering Mining has become a focal point with increasing appeal. By 2010, the exhibition categories for mining and raw-materials extraction and processing (Fig. 2) already had more than 600 exhibitors from 31 countries. That is why this is such an important business platform for the mining industry – outstanding opportunities for networking and interesting business prospects.

The 2013 bauma Forum will fill the mining sector with additional life and ensure a lively exchange of ideas and opinions: Events and lectures by top experts await visitors in Hall C2 (Fig. 3). This is the place to find out more about the industry’s latest trends and developments. Country specials and the product and company presentations in the bauma Forum give other interesting perspectives.

On 14.04.2013 the Innovation Award is being presented for the tenth time. The award is divided into five categories: Machinery, Machinery components, Construction process/Construction work, Research and Design. The competition is a joint project by the German Engineering Federation (VDMA – Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V.), the German Construction Industry Association (HDB – Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie e.V.), the Central Association of the German Construction Industry (ZDB – Zentralverband des deutschen Baugewerbes e.V.), the German Building Materials Association (BBS – Bundesverband Baustoffe – Steine und Erden e.V.) and bauma.
