Decreasing landfill capacities, rising landfill costs and the growing shortage of raw materials are demanding increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions in the construction industry too. Against this background, the recycling of building material waste takes on an important role. The track-mounted R1200 jaw crusher from Rockster (Fig. 1) is based on a fully hydraulic concept and is the ideal solution for all crushing duties that require maximized wear resistance, like recycling and comminution of concrete, building rubble (Fig. 2), clay bricks, but also hard natural rock.
The hydraulic R1200 is driven by a high-powered, electronically controlled CAT engine, the crusher is driven by means of a hydrostat arrangement. The material is fed on a hydraulically driven vibrating feeder. An exchangeable bar screen guarantees reliable pre-screening of the material before it is fed to the crusher inlet. The adjustable bypass chute enables flexible crushing with or without side belt. The main discharge belt can be hydraulically lowered, the side discharge belt can be folded away hydraulically for transport. The gap width is also adjusted hydraulically.
The drive system is in the rear of the machine, in a soundproof housing. For maintenance and repair purposes, the housing can be opened on all sides over a large area. As a result, optimum ventilation of the engine pack and cooling are guaranteed. The hydraulic pump for auxiliary drives (main belt, side belt, vibrating feeder, travel gear ...) and the pump for the hydrostat are driven via a transfer gear flanged to the engine. Via a v-belt, the hydrostat arrangement drives the crusher with zero wear and without any maintenance costs.
The R1200 track-mounted jaw crusher produces defined product grades in just one pass. The optional screen system – consisting of the RS94 compact circular motion vibrating screen in combination with the RB85 return belt – is the perfect addition to the track-mounted R1100 and R1200 (impact crusher and jaw crusher) for the production of 100 % defined final product grade. The components are attached direct to the main belt of the machines and driven direct by means of the crusher’s auxiliary hydraulics. Thanks to the identical drive system of R1200 and R1100 (jaw crusher and impact crusher), with these models, the different crusher units can be installed on the same base frame (Fig. 3).
