The patented Combo™ was unveiled at bauma in April 2019, as the first fully integrated, modular, turnkey materials wet processing and water management solution for the production of premium manufactured sands. The latest model will have enhanced features, specifically designed to enable operators in the Americas to capitalize on new opportunities.

Stefan Hunger, CDE Regional Manager for Europe and Russia says: "At CDE, we pride ourselves on delivering optimized processes for maximum yield and fast return on investment for our customers. Our high performance solutions maximize resources and bring huge economic value to our customers' businesses. In doing so, the innovative Combo™ has paved the way to a new era of wet processing. We look forward to presenting the latest Combo™ model at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Especially the presentation was chosen in this region, which was our inspiration for these further developments. This next-generation plant provides significant economic benefits while reducing operating costs".

CDE's wet processing technologies enable better production efficiency, increase yield to maximize profit per ton, and provide rapid return on investment. Unrivaled fines separation and sand dewatering maximizes yields with less than 15 % moisture content, creating revenue straight from the belts to command the highest possible market price.

CDE wet processing technology with its patented Combo™ range increases profitability and benefits from significant savings with increased efficiency.

Lower consumption, complemented by industry-leading water treatment, enables customers to become almost completely independent of the water supply, with up to 90 % of process water treated for immediate reuse in the system – ideal for sites with limited resources or those with existing or upcoming more stringent environmental regulations. Ensuring optimum run-time and productivity of the CDE system allows higher volumes of feed material to be processed to increase profitability.

Not to mention, the Combo™ is portable and includes all five essential processes - feeding, classification, sand preparation, siltation and fully integrated water management – on a compact and modular frame. With a 30 % smaller footprint compared to conventional equipment, it requires less space and planning. Customers do not need to invest in new equipment when their operations move to another or remote location, and the small footprint ensures suitability for an urban market. The plant can also be located where it produces sand closer to where concrete is needed, resulting in significant cost savings in the transportation of aggregates.

Kevin Vallelly, CDE's Director of Engineering, said: "The Combo™ is the first universal material processing system that accepts feed from both natural sand and gravel, giving our customers full flexibility in choosing the materials they want to process depending on the available deposits. Natural sand deposits are a finite resource and CDE's cyclone technology ensures that no grain of valuable sand is lost in tailings ponds. At CDE we are opening up a new world of raw materials and promoting alternatives for sand production. Global demand for building sand exceeds 15 billion t/a. We want to give our customers full flexibility by providing tailor-made and sustainable solutions in production. Combo™ meets their requirements and operates extremely economically."

He adds: "With the launch of Combo™ 2019, we have further improved our technology to adapt it for the American market. Delivering profitable material directly from the belt and minimizing operating costs, the Combo™ exhibited at CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the next phase in a series of presentations on how CDE's sand preparation system works. This technology has been developed to open up a new world of raw materials, protect our environment and help to make our world of the future sustainable."
