Based on our analysis, Lithuania has been identified as an attractive location for a new manufacturing hub. The closeness of our current customers in the Europe, Russia, Middle East and Africa region, efficient logistics network, sustainable operational environment and favorable market conditions were important criteria in the decision making,” says Sami Takaluoma, President, Minerals Consumables business area.
The new facility is located in the region of Šiauliai (Šiauliai län) in northern Lithuania. The factory will employ 80 people by end of 2020.

In 2019, Metso opened a new Metso Business Services (MBS) center in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. The MBS center offers services for Metso’s finance operations and customer logistics. Currently the center employs about 80 experts.
