Live demonstrations create the experience of demolition and processing of mineral construction waste

RATL – the demonstration trade fair for construction, demolition and recycling – will offer the demolition and recycling industry a practical technology platform for demolition and processing of mineral construction waste through the Attachment Arena in October 2025.

Karlsruhe, 1 September 2025

With the European Green Deal action plan, the construction industry is clearly heading towards a transformation to a circular economy. The volumes are impressive: according to the 14th report by the Circular Economy in Construction Initiative, around 208 million tonnes of mineral construction waste were recycled into 188 million tonnes of building materials in an environmentally friendly manner in 2022. This corresponds to a rate of just over 90%. The machine technologies and expertise required for this can be experienced in the live demonstrations at the Attachment Arena and the integrated Mineralik Panel at the RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE (RATL) trade fair from 9 to 11 October at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre.

Focus on construction site reality: attachments along the material flow

In 2025, visitors can expect a revamped, focused show concept under the theme of ‘Demolition and processing of mineral construction waste’. Three times a day, visitors will be able to experience how smoothly coordinated systems interact in the circular economy. In the Attachment Arena, the focus will be on the entire process chain from demolition material to recyclable building material: from selective demolition work to the sustainable processing of mineral construction waste.
Participants include leading attachment manufacturers and dealers such as HS-Schoch GmbH, Dappen Werkzeug&Maschinenbau GmbH, SkanCraft GmbH, NB Bau-maschinen GmbH, MaC-Rock GmbH and Seifert Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG. At the heart of the arena are powerful demolition excavators from Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH, Kiesel GmbH and JCB Deutschland GmbH, equipped with state-of-the-art quick-change technology from OilQuick Deutschland KG. This allows the entire range of attachments to be tried out in no time at all – from demolition hammers and pulverisers to screening buckets. The changeover is not only technically smooth, but also coherent in terms of content: each changeover shows how processes are optimally coordinated – and what it means to work efficiently on the construction site.

Technical expertise meets a real trade fair experience

"The Attachment Arena, one of five demonstration formats at the trade fair, is likely to be the right setting for efficient demolition equipment. Here, I look forward to seeing a selection of the latest machines and technology with new configurations, which I can compare with each other and use to make the right choice for me," confirms long-time visitor Robert Oettinger, founder and managing partner of the Oettinger group of companies, who sees the arena as a practical guide. Questions from the audience about the application of machine technology are curated and then put to the product specialists. Steffen Feger, managing director of Helmut Feger GmbH, adds: ‘But it's not just about technology. Formats like these awaken interest in previously unknown solutions – and make visiting the trade fair entertaining at the same time. It is precisely this mixture of professionalism and experience that makes people want to stay longer.’

With this concept, Messe Karlsruhe, the first German trade fair company to be validated according to the EMAS environmental management system, aims to offer companies a backdrop for the demolition and crushing of mineral construction waste in connection with its processing into high-quality secondary building materials, while at the same time supporting the sustainable transformation of the construction industry.

RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE (RATL)
Deeper technology. Stronger community. Bigger Experience!

An unbeatable recipe for success: the symbiotic interaction between the construction and recycling industries, the unique demonstration character and the clear focus on the sustainable use of raw materials make RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE (RATL for short) THE demonstration trade fair for construction, demolition and recycling in the German trade fair landscape – and at the highest level!
Every two years, the recycling and civil engineering industries meet at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre, which, with Germany's third-largest outdoor area, the Peter Gross Bau Areal, provides the ideal setting for unique live demonstrations. Tailor-made machine solutions for the challenges of the markets are brought to life in practical process sequences – either directly at the exhibition stand or on one of the sample construction sites and action areas. The non-stop live demonstrations in thematic show concepts enable the trade audience to compare products directly and thus provide impetus for increasing efficiency in their own operations.
