Vibrating screens with rubber balls for cleaning the screening surface
Dosiertechnik GmbH manufactures vibrating screens with rubber balls for cleaning the screening surface. This simple yet very effective method of cleaning screening surfaces is used in screens with steel or stainless steel screening surfaces with mesh widths from 1-10 mm (Fig.). The screening surface is effectively cleaned by the solid rubber balls permanently bouncing against the underside of the screening surface. The design of this ball deck is simple. A pressure-welded grid fitted below the rubber balls prevents them from falling through. Above the rubber balls, the screening surface or mesh is tensioned lengthways over the screen or crossways to the direction of feed travel. The vibration of the screen accelerates the rubber balls below the screening surface. The dynamics of the solid rubber balls causes these to bounce uncontrolled into the different sections and in all directions so that they hit almost every part of the screening surface above the sections. Especially particles that tend to get pegged in the fine-mesh screen can be shot out of the screen mesh by the rubber balls. Another effect in the case of relatively thin screening surfaces is the additional oscillation generated by the balls.
