NEUMAN & ESSER Process Technology

A‌t POWTECH 2019, NEUMAN & ESSER Process Technology will be presenting the optimized GRC high-efficiency classifier and the innovative PMX pendulum mill for fine grinding.

Since the prototype of NEA’s guide-ring classifier GRC had already been presented at the previous POWTECH, a lot of operational experience could be gained allowing further optimizations. The data collected in cooperation with customers on the basis of real-world tasks confirm the classifier’s efficiency so far believed to be unattainable in the market. Fine material yields of 80 – 90 % below 20 µm with minimum energy demand highlight the potential of the GRC as well as the superiority compared with previous conventional solutions.

The PMX, also presented at POWTECH, is a pendulum mill system that represents a real alternative to ball or jet mill systems. The PMX requires only half the energy of the ball mill, and is even more energy efficient compared to the jet mill. Having left its prototype phase, the PMX is now available for grinding tests in the NEA Technical Center. In first tests, finesses of below 4 µm (d98) or 1.5 µm (d50) could be achieved with extremely low energy demand.

NEUMAN & ESSER’s latest developments for fine grinding and high-efficiency classifying are part of a modular product system. The modularity of the individual components now allows combinations of grinding and classifying units that offer completely new solutions in the technological field of crushing technology. In addition to the well-known NEA products, such as the Impact Classifier Mill ICM, and the Pendulum Mill PMX, numerous products have been developed over the last years with the aim of solving the most challenging grinding and classifying tasks in a highly efficient manner. In addition to the products now presented at the POWTECH, these include the Grinding and Drying Plant ICD, the fine Impact Classifier Mill ICX and the Deflector Classifiers DC and DCX.

At POWTECH, NEUMAN & ESSER Process Technology will present the collected and documented experiences as well as real operating values, such as particle size distributions, yields, separation curves and energy demands.
