Separate and in combination, a force to be reckoned with in mineral processing

© Christophel Recycling calls for the use of reliable and high-performance processing equipment. At NordBau 2019 in Neumünster in Germany, the company selected, together with the supplier Christophel, machines that were up to job, but which could also be used separately from each other at the recycling depots. After presentation of the 29-t Metrotrak 900 x 600 jaw crusher and the 17-t Warrior 800 scalping screen, it was soon agreed that these two machines fit in well with the requirements profile.
Thanks to the rigid hopper walls, the Metrotrak jaw crusher needs extremely short set-up times. Scalped material can be comfortably removed with the activation of a hand lever either onto the product belt or via a side belt for stockpiling. The load-driven control system automatically ensures steady utilization of the crusher capacity. At the push of a button, the automatic blockage elimination system opens the crusher gap for fast and uncomplicated elimination of possible blockages. Under the crusher discharge, a hydraulically activated flipper plate ensures that reinforcements are steered in the direction of flow and belt damage avoided.
Complementing the Metrotrak, the Warrior 800 scalping screen is deployed. The machine can be used as a scalping screen before or after the crusher. Used on its own, the Warrior 800 can solve extremely difficult screening problems such as compost and coherent soils. The 3.5-m³ hopper can be fed by means of a wheel loader or excavator. Impact protection bars and rubberized rollers under the feed belt safely take up heavy and coarse feed material. The belt is controlled hydraulically with regard to its speed and it meters the material onto the 1225 x 2700 mm double-deck screen box. The screen box fabricated in a cold-rivet process can safely withstand the high acceleration forces. The rugged oversize belt reliably processes particle sizes to 500 mm. Two side belts with around 3.80 m discharge height ensure large-volume stockpiling, eliminating the need to constantly switch to different stockpiles. The speed of all the belts can be controlled independently of each other and the belts can be hydraulically retracted and extended. Thanks to the favourable transport dimensions, both machines can be transported on a standard low-loader. Individually, the two machines are a force to be reckoned with in mineral processing.
