bauma

Dear Readers,

this issue is completely dedicated to the bauma, which will open its doors at the fairgrounds in Munich from 08 to 14 April 2019. Six months before its start, Messe München reported a new peak in exhibitors’ numbers:  more than 3500 exhibitors from 55 countries are going to showcase their products, systems and solutions at bauma. And the fair has set out to crack the 600 000 visitor mark. So be curious about the world’s leading trade fair and take a look at our preview page 8. Many companies have participated and will already give an insight into their bauma highlights!

Besides the bauma preview, there are of course numerous other exciting articles. In the interview from page 72, Dr. Andreas Echelmeyer, Head of the Center of Competence for Conveying and Loading Systems at BEUMER Group, talks about current developments with regard to complex as well as flexible system solutions for industries such as the cement industry, the coal and ore processing sector.

Part 2.2 of the article entitled “Characteristics of deposits” by Prof. Unland deals in detail with the occurrence and location of hard coal deposits in the Ruhr area (pp. 86), where the mining of hard coal ended in 2018 after more than 700 years.

Have an interesting time with issue 3 of the AT MINERAL PROCESSING!

Dr. Petra Strunk
Editor-in-chief AT MINERAL PROCESSING
