The technologies of both companies complement each other particularly well in applications where the pumped medium contains a very high proportion of solids. Tsurumi is one of the leading manufacturers of submersible pumps for demanding operating conditions. Founded in Japan in 1924, the company operates its European headquarters in Düsseldorf/Germany, and is particularly well established in the construction industry, tunnelling and raw materials extraction. The product range comprises hundreds of pump models for construction dewatering, high-pressure applications, residual water conveyance, and slurry pumps for media containing sand and solids. The robust units are designed for use in very harsh construction site conditions and are also employed in municipal and industrial applications.
Dragflow specialises in the conveyance of highly abrasive slurries and sediments. Its portfolio includes, amongst other products, dredging systems as well as floating and remote-controlled solutions for sediment removal. Typical areas of application include port facilities, rivers and reservoirs, as well as projects in mining, specialist civil engineering or industry.
In many construction and infrastructure projects, simply pumping out water is not enough – often large quantities of sludge, sand or sediment need to be moved at the same time. This is where the expertise of the two manufacturers complements each other. Tsurumi covers the field of construction drainage and traditional submersible pump technology, whilst Dragflow provides application solutions for scenarios involving high levels of solids: a win-win situation for the industry. Tsurumi will be exhibiting at IFAT in May and will also be showcasing its range of services at Steinexpo in September.
