Fischer-Jung: Performance show marking “70+5”-year anniversary

Marking the 70th birthday of the company Fischer-Jung GmbH and the now fifth year since the founding of Fischer-Jung Aufbereitungstechnik, two “quarry days” were held from 31 August to 1 September at the basalt and lava stone quarry worked by the company Terratec Basalt GmbH. Fischer-Jung has been the biggest and exclusive Metso distributor in Germany for some years and a Metso partner for 30 years.

Ettringen in the Vulkaneifel district proved an ideal venue for the anniversary celebrations with subsequent performance show to demonstrate to the hand-picked public the way of the rock from blasting at the quarry face to the sized end-product. The invited guests were able to get a complete picture of different processing stages in hard rock, in which exclusively mobile machines and equipment from Metso and Case were involved. After the blasting and feed of the raw material, the guests followed the multistage processing of the rock through pre-screening, two- and three-stage crushing process to stockpiling of the different products. At the end, the quality of the high-grade end-products of different basalt fractions (0/2, 2/8, 8/16 mm) was assessed.

The special highlights of the latest processing technologies included the Metso Lokotrack LT220D, a track-mounted cone crusher with integrated 3-deck screening unit and oversize recirculation, which has only been in operation at Terratec-Basalt GmbH since at the end of last year. The new mobile impact crusher with active pre-screening and fuel-saving mode from Metso, the Lokotrack LT1213, only recently made its debut at Terratec’s basalt quarry. The visitors were visibly impressed by the presentation and were able to convince themselves first-hand how mobile Lokotrack units from Metso in combination achieve a total production of 400 t perfect end-product per hour.
In the Basalt-Lava plant at Ettringen as well as at nearby Terratec sites, eleven Metso machines are in operation. The company supplies chippings for road construction, concrete processing, material for garden landscaping and is also involved in recycling and demolition.
