Sustainable conveying solutions

For over 10 years Schad conveyor elements have been propelling just about anything that can be moved: belt conveyors in the non-metallic minerals, conveyors in the chemicals industry, in power plants, recycling technology – just to mention a few of the many applications of the products. The company’s portfolio includes the entire range of conveyor components: rollers, pulleys (Fig.), stations, gears, pulley motors, scrapers, wear-resistant rubber, bearings and accessories.

Against the background of increasing raw material prices and the idea of sustainability, the reconditioning of high-quality return rollers and increasingly support rollers and belt pulleys is playing an ever more important role. Since the commissioning of the specially developed plant for dismantling rollers, ten thousands have already been recycled. The advantages of recycling are enormous, especially for custom designs or small piece numbers. In addition, recycling saves considerable energy compared with the production of new raw materials. As an alternative to steel rollers, standard and special rollers made of high-load HDPE (type SKU) are available, even with plastic axle arms (type SKU II). These low-noise and low-wear rollers are especially interesting for applications in the recycling and processing industries. The new plastic roller with plastic axle arms is fabricated without external, corrosion-prone steel components. This design is particularly suitable for combating wear in extremely damp and corrosive environments.
