WESTERIA offers a wide range of components for the separation of valuable materials from waste, in addition to its competence in the field of material handling. Air separators, bin systems for the storage of fractions, complete conveying systems and individual solutions are features of the wide range of products. WESTERIA air separators (Fig.) are based on the patent for cross-flow separators granted in the middle of 1990s. A powerful laminar airflow is generated via a nozzle. It accelerates the materials through the belt conveyor and from there throws them against a rotating drum. Heavy parts fall down and light parts are passed to the top via the drum. Today the designengineers are even able to adjust the technology and the air so exactly that three weight fractions can be formed – heavy, medium, light. Each fraction can be collected in intermediate stores (bins). Thus, there is also the option of automatic adjustment to quickly register a wide variety of materials. The result is a homogeneous separation of valuable materials.
