New series

With 16 models in its new SPX series (Fig.), Söndgerath supplies a wide range of submersible drainage pumps. Key features of these pumps are their extreme ruggedness in the toughest conditions, their high wear resistance ensuring their durability even when pumping sand. Thanks to their compact design and the top discharge outlet, the pumps of the new series are also ideally suitable for use in very confined conditions. The SPX-R models are also fitted with an agitator mounted to the shaft, which improves the flowability of the medium conveyed. The delivery rate of the new pump generation ranges from 27 to 147 m³/h.

With SPX series submersible pumps, dirty water containing sand or gravel as well as light sludges can be pumped to a height of 48.5 m depending on the pump model. The maximum depth of immersion measures 50 m. The SPX-R pumps are used for sand- and gravel-containing water, but are also ideally suitable for sludge, silt, drilling emulsion, bentonite and similarly problematic mixes. Their depth of immersion extends down to 30 m.

For all pumps of this series, the casing and base plate are made of solid cast iron. The impeller and – if fitted – the agitator consist of chromium steel. The stainless steel shaft has a maintenance-free, enclosed ball-bearing and double rotating mechanical seals. All two- or four-pole (SPX-R) motors are absolutely safe to run dry. Their power rating can be selected from 1.5 to 11 kW, all pumps needing a power outlet. Submersible pumps are excellently suitable for tough applications in building, mining and in industry.

For smaller-volume pumping applications, the Essen-based company supplies another five electric submersible pumps in this series, but with a stainless steel double casing. Thanks to the cooling effected, they also enable continuous snore operation. The motor power ranges from 0.4 to 1.5 kW and permits operation with 230 volts. In combination with the external motor protection plug, the thermal motor protection optimally protects the electric drive. For use with widely varying flow rates, they are also available with a float switch. With their low weight, these pumps are ideally suitable for smaller pumping applications in industry, municipal works, building and mining.
