All about the drum

Soil, sand, compost, gravel, wood chips and various residual products are examples of what can be screened by the MULTI SCREEN® MS 2001 from the company ZEMMLER Siebanlagen (Fig.). Almost any free-flowing material can be efficiently separated into 3 fractions (fine, middle-sized, coarse) by this trommel. Depending on the condition of the ma-terial and the selected screen cloth, the plant has a capacity of up to 150 m³/h, which is due to the large double drum. It is mounted at a fixed angle of inclination and the speed of which is infinitely variable.

The double drum consists of an inner drum with a diameter of 1500 mm and
an outer drum with a diameter of 2005 mm. Thus, with a drum length of 4200 mm, a total screening surface of approx. 32 m² is available. The strong, rugged inner drum has been designed in such a way that the material is uniformly distributed inside the drum thus achieving a better screening result.

The outer drum is covered with wire screens that may vary in mesh width and shape. Various square meshes and harp screens with sizes from 2 to 80 mm are available. Thus, the customers can individually adjust the MULTI SCREEN® MS 2001 to their requirements. In the case of wire screens, not only the shape and mesh width may be selected but also the thickness of the wires of the screens. They vary, depending on the density and condition of the material, between 1 and 6 mm. This enables selective and exact screening by means of the MULTI SCREEN® MS 2001. Furthermore, the use of wire screens results in a higher amount of meshes per surface unit area, which in turn leads to a larger passing surface. This increases the screening capacity of the MULTI SCREEN® MS 2001. The wires have a particularly high strength so that the wire screens will resists heavy loads.

The hydraulically driven cleaning brush ensures that the outer screen is always clean. In addition to the variable speed, the cleaning brush can also be adjusted to the distance to the outer drum screen. Both factors ensure active and thorough cleaning of the outer screen by means of the brush. Thus, continuous selective screening, even of earth-moist materials, is possible.

The screen cloths of the MULTI SCREEN® MS2001 can be changed quickly and without any problem even at site so that the operator of the MULTI SCREEN® can respond flexibly to the different particle sizes, material conditions and requirements. The wide maintenance doors ensure easy access to the double drum and its tension take-ups for the outer screens. The tightening screws can be unscrewed and tightened without any special tools. Without using any further accessories, the screen cloth can be replaced completely within a short time and then the machine can be restarted.

The wire screens of the MULTI SCREEN® MS 2001 have a small transport volume and a low weight. Two additional screen cloths can be carried along with the machine without any further transport costs. This additionally increases the flexibility and mobility of the ZEMMLER® MULTI SCREEN® MS 2001.
