A new plant starts operation

The company’s history started more than 140 years ago: in 1871 the 28-year-old Robert Vigier built the first cement factory in Switzerland. The early years weren’t easy, know-how and experience had to be amassed first. But the success of the venture was clearly proven by the survival and enormous growth of the Group. Today, the Vigier Group consists of five business segments, which have been grouped together under the umbrella of the Vigier Holding AG since 1995:
