Central chain bucket elevators and trough chain conveyors heading for the Russian fertilizer industry
EuroChem Volgakaliy LLC placed the order with the division Minerals & Mining at AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH for the supply of central chain bucket elevators and twin-strand trough chain conveyors for the Gremyachinskoye Potash Project in Kotelnikovo. EuroChem is the largest Russian producer of fertilizers. According to their own data, EuroChem qualifies as one of the three largest fertilizer producers in Europe and among the top 10 worldwide.
At the end of 2012 AUMUND delivered three twin-strand trough chain conveyors (TKF) featuring centre distances of 10 m to 33 m and discharge capacities of 180 t/h to 360 t/h as well as three central chain bucket elevators (BWZ) with a conveying capacity of 180 t/h each (Fig. 1). EuroChem is thus placing its confidence in AUMUND’s central chain bucket elevators for continuous-operation transport of potash (material temperatures from 30°C to 150°C) from drying to granulation. Through its employment of central chain bucket elevators, instead of the hitherto conventional twin-strand chain bucket elevators in the fertilizer industry, EuroChem insisted on the newest and most efficient technology (Fig 2). „Contracts such as these bear witness to the continual introduction of the most modern conveying technology solutions, also in the traditional mining and fertilizer industries.“, explains Dr. Michael Mutz, manager of the division Minerals & Mining.
