The new Rockster R800 jaw crusher in natural stone and construction waste processing

F‌or natural stone processing, but especially for the processing of construction waste, Peter Happenhofer and his team rely on Rockster’s R800 jaw crusher. The compact dimensions, the remarkable throughput capacity and the optimal end material were the decisive factors for the purchase decision in June this year.

Almost 20 years ago, Peter Happenhofer laid the foundation for the successful Happenhofer Bau GmbH, a well-known address for construction, demolition, earthworks and gravel in the Aflenz basin, by founding a mini-excavator rental company. Since May 2013, the company has owned the gravel plant in Thullin and produces mainly concrete gravel, but also gravel for road construction, drainage work, various types of chippings, as well as pipe and cable sand. Happenhofer’s team also has an enormous amount of experience in forest road construction. “With the flexible R800, we can now process the rocks on site right away and use the generated wheel material immediately for road construction,” Happenhofer is enthusiastic. “We produce a lot of base course material, which should not have too many fines. The final grain quality is optimal for our areas of application,” he adds.

As for the reason for choosing this Rockster plant, Happenhofer says: “Because of the easy transport. We want to be able to transport the crusher quickly and flexibly. This works excellently with our low-loader and the company’s own trucks. We can also drive up appropriately impassable forest roads or pass narrow access roads at any time and process demolition material at private houses, for example, all of which can be done very easily and quickly with this size of machine,” Happenhofer says.

The R800 is Rockster’s most compact jaw crusher, weighing 25.7 t without the screening system. It is designed for easy transport and is best suited for companies where flexibility and mobility are important. With a length of only 9.60 m, a width of 2.50 m and a height of 3.20 m, it can be transported without any transport permits, thus saving time and money. This is a big plus, especially in the contract crushing sector.

However, Peter Happenhofer wants to use the new jaw crusher not only for crushed stone production, but above all for construction waste processing. “We see so much potential here, whether it’s bricks, concrete or asphalt demolition waste, the recycling of these construction waste materials needs to be pushed more. We turn it into a valuable, reusable building material with this, it’s efficient and sustainable,” he explains.
