Modernisation of existing plant

CDE to put a modernised wash plant on Lake Zurich into operation

CDE is to commission a new production line in a plant designed by the Swiss engineering company INERTA. The plant, located close to Lake Zurich, will integrate CDE’s equipment to process excavated soil material from across the region. The plant will be used by construction industry experts JMS, one of the leaders in the recycling and construction industry in the Zurich area with over 90 years experience.

Inerta specialise in bespoke planning, design and installation for the treatment of excavated materials and recycled aggregates, contaminated sludge treatment, as well as industrial water treatments, and work to create solutions for its customers by finding the appropriate suppliers to deliver proven solutions alongside their own expertise.

With CDE’s expertise in wet processing and creating sustainable recycling solutions, and Inerta’s deep know-how of the market and industry, as well as knowledge in local permissions and permits, together they have devised a solution fit for the needs and wants of the end user. Due to the existing facilities and buildings, the challenge was to design an interface that seamlessly integrated the old and new systems. In recent years the reduction in landfill space and increasing disposal prices alongside high transport costs have created a high demand for the proper recycling and reuse of excavated soils. This led to the decision of expanding operations at JMS. The solution will be an addition to an existing plant to allow for feed material to be processed at a rate of 100 t/h. Once commissioned, the modernized plant will allow for JMS to produce high quality sand and aggregates to be repurposed in the local construction industry.

Bruno Rosenberger, Managing Director at Inerta commented on the cooperation: “We have been really impressed with the dedication and expertise of the CDE team. After visiting another one of CDE’s plants in Switzerland that has similar technology to what we required, we knew we were making the right decision.” Andrew Wilson, Business Development Manager for CDE added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Inerta on this project. With our 30 years of expertise in wet processing combined with Inerta’s knowledge of the Swiss market and their flexible approach to delivering the best solution to their customers, this is a collaboration that makes sense.”
