High performance at Nordbau

Mudcleaner for sustainable HDD projects and geothermal drilling

More powerful than ever before, the Mudcleaner will be on display at Nordbau from 10 to 14 September. Max Wild GmbH, based in Berkheim (Baden-Württemberg), has further optimised its recycling truck – for even more efficient drilling mud recycling in HDD processes and geothermal drilling. Max Wild will be showcasing its latest developments and enhancements to its innovative recycling solution at the Outdoor Area North – N268. New: a larger centrifuge and optimised control system ensure greater throughput and efficiency. Useful enhancements, such as drum stands and a foldable tail lift, also improve the workflow on the construction site. Max Wild offers its multi-award-winning in-house innovation to other construction companies and local authorities in flexible financing models, such as leasing or rental.

“At Nordbau, we are showcasing our optimised Mudcleaner Truck. It is now particularly powerful and offers new practical features for use on construction sites,” explains Christian Wild, Managing Director of Max Wild GmbH. “Over the past two years, we have significantly developed and optimised our in-house innovation, which has already been very well received in the industry, always with the aim of becoming even more efficient and practical on the construction site,” Christian Wild continues.

Mudcleaner technology

The Mudcleaner is available as a mobile, semi-mobile and stationary system and promises particularly sustainable horizontal and geothermal drilling thanks to efficient drilling mud recycling: on average, HDD projects and geothermal drilling consume 90 % less water, produce 90 % less waste and incur 90 % lower disposal costs. The Mudcleaner Truck is a true all-rounder for use on construction sites. As a mobile recycling unit, the truck processes drilling mud directly on site and is sustainable in three ways: the process water for the HDD process is recycled, the amount of material to be disposed of is reduced, and so are the transport trips to landfills.

Complete train: truck and drilling rig

The Mudcleaner Truck is the mobile recycling solution for HDD projects and geothermal drilling and is designed as a complete truck concept consisting of a truck and drilling rig. The Mudcleaner Truck is based on a MAN TGS 18.460 truck. This provides space for two 3000-l flushing tanks and the recycling system, among other things. The Mudcleaner Truck is available in two versions: as a 2-axle truck with a tarpaulin body or as a 3-axle truck with a box body. In both cases, users have the truck with the recycling system and the drilling rig compactly combined for later use on the construction site. This saves on logistics, transport routes and time.

Larger centrifuge and optimised control system

A new feature of the Mudcleaner is a larger centrifuge installed in the cleaning system. The new centrifuge delivers up to 33 % more power, making the Mudcleaner more powerful than ever before. Instead of the previous 300 l/min, the Mudcleaner now achieves up to 400 l/min.

Max Wild has also optimised the Mudcleaner’s control system. This makes the recycling truck even more reliable and user-friendly, while also enabling higher throughputs. “We have installed a lot of sensor technology and every single component of the Mudcleaner is monitored. Thanks to automation and the control panel, employees on the construction site can operate the recycling truck ‘on the side’, so to speak. The advantage: with the mud cleaner truck, the HDD construction site can be handled by just two people. The intelligent control system thus saves on personnel costs,” emphasises Georg Botzenhardt, Head of Purchasing and Sales at Max Wild GmbH.

New: Roll-off unit and other features

As a new addition, Mudcleaner technology is now also available as a semi-mobile solution. The recycling unit on a roll-off frame works similarly to the Mudcleaner Station, but – like the Mudcleaner Truck – can be used on the move. “Our new product closes the gap between the Mudcleaner Truck and the Mudcleaner Station. With the consistent expansion of the Mudcleaner portfolio, we offer our customers even more flexibility for their HDD projects and drilling mud recycling,” says Christian Wild.

Other new additions to the Mudcleaner Truck include optional auxiliary heating and a foldable tail lift. Similar to a lifting platform, the foldable tail lift allows equipment for use on the construction site to be loaded and unloaded quickly and easily. A high-pressure cleaner can also be permanently installed in the Mudcleaner Truck as an option. Instead of ejecting the drilling material via one of the sides of the Mudcleaner Truck, rear ejection is also possible on request. “We offer a wide range of additional extensions for the Mudcleaner Truck. Whether it’s a rear-view camera, a turning assistant or additional components such as pit pumps – we can manufacture very flexibly and according to customer specifications,” emphasises Alexander Fleck, Technical Support HDD/Mudcleaner at Max Wild.

Flexible financing

The financing of the Mudcleaner Truck is just as flexible. Max Wild offers various financing models: from direct or new purchases to used purchases, leasing or rental.

With leasing terms ranging from 12 to 60 months, construction companies and municipalities can lease the Mudcleaner Truck risk-free and test it directly in practice, even for longer projects. Another financing model is hire purchase. The recycling truck is rented at fixed and predictable rates, with the rental period based on the customer’s individual requirements. At the end of the rental period, the Mudcleaner Truck automatically becomes the customer’s fixed asset. This is particularly practical, as construction companies and local authorities can include the truck in their balance sheet and write it off right from the start – without any large initial investment.

Round-the-clock service

Should problems or minor damage to the Mudcleaner Truck occur, Max Wild also offers a quick solution. Max Wild’s in-house workshop (DIE WERKSTATT) offers “user expertise” for special vehicles from the construction sector and is available from 7 a.m. to midnight. Spare parts and wear parts are available during this period, and the professionals at DIE WERKSTATT will take care of the Mudcleaner trucks immediately so that they are quickly ready for use on the construction site again.

Recycling solution for construction companies and local authorities

For those, who want to know how much can be saved on different HDD drilling projects by using the Mudcleaner Truck, it is worth visiting the Max Wild website. A benefits calculator shows the individual savings potential for each construction site: https://www.maxwild.com/produkte/mudcleaner/
