Production relocated
After ten years of production in the Ukraine, the Bamberg-based company CutMetall is building a modern production facility for high-quality blades and wear parts on 1 800 m² at Eisfeld, in the German state of Thuringia (Fig.). The company is investing around € 6 million and creating 20 new jobs. The blades made of high-alloy tool steel are used mainly in recycling equipment. With the streamlined new plant and the shorter routes within Germany, CutMetall now sees itself in a good position to launch new export strategies. While up to now the company has exported primarily to Austria and Switzer-land, in future it will target customers in Spain, France, Italy, Great Britain and Israel.
