Call for abstracts – Sensor-Based Sorting & Control 2026

The 11^th expert conference Sensor-Based Sorting & Control takes place on March 17 – 18, 2026, in Aachen/Germany.

Over two days in Aachen, representatives from industry and academia will present the latest developments and applications in automated separation and sensor-based sorting as well as innovative approaches for material monitoring and process optimization and control within the entire process chains of recycling and mineral processing. The conference serves as a networking platform for scientists, developers, manufacturers, and plant operators to exchange knowledge and share their experiences.

We hereby invite you to submit abstracts for presentations in English covering one of the following topics, but not limited to:

• Advancement of multi-sensors
• Improvement in single particle detection
• Methods of data processing and particle analysis
• Deployment of sensors for online monitoring and process control
• Utilization of data and information for increased plant efficiency, and
• Optimization of peripheral processes.

Topics may refer to theoretical and practical aspects, methodological and empirical approaches as well as case studies and research activities. Application-oriented contributions are welcomed.

All accepted abstracts will be published in a printed abstract volume. In addition, selected contributions will have the opportunity to be published as full papers in a Special Issue of Sensors . When submitting your abstract, please indicate whether you are interested in contributing a paper to MDPI for the above-mentioned Special Issue. If your abstract is selected, you will be invited to submit a corresponding manuscript and will receive further details.
