New video demonstrates how Eriez® StackCell achieves faster, finer flotation

Eriez® has released a new educational video highlighting the advanced operation and performance advantages of its StackCell® High-Intensity Flotation Technology. The animated walkthrough presents a step-by-step visualisation of how StackCell enhances mineral recovery through rapid flotation kinetics, fine bubble generation, and an efficient compact layout.

Featuring vivid 3D cutaways and process flow graphics, the animation highlights the innovative design of the StackCell system. Slurry enters each StackCell stage, where intense mixing with microbubbles drives rapid bubble-particle attachment. Viewers get an inside look at how the two-stage configuration redefines flotation – separating high-energy particle collection from froth recovery to deliver faster flotation, and higher-grade concentrates within a substantially smaller footprint.

“Operators are continually seeking to optimise flotation performance, particularly when treating fine or low-grade ores,” said Homie Thanasekaran, Senior Global Product Manager – Flotation at Eriez. “This animation provides an engaging way to understand StackCell’s core advantages and its potential to enhance both efficiency and sustainability across mineral processing circuits.”

StackCell technology focuses energy within a high-shear chamber that produces fine bubbles, approximately 100 µm in diameter, enhancing bubble-particle interaction and improving ultrafine mineral recovery. Its innovative design minimises circuit size and power consumption, achieving comparable or superior results in roughly one-third of the time required by conventional flotation cells.

Adaptable for both greenfield and brownfield operations, StackCell units can be seamlessly integrated into existing circuit to boost throughput, increase recovery, and enhance overall plant performance, while reducing capital, operating, and maintenance costs.
