Building materials manufacturer Rohrdorfer, headquartered in Rohrdorf, Upper Bavaria, has expanded its product range. On January 1, 2026, the company established a sixth division, “Dry Construction Materials.” The new division is headed by Christian Etz (61), who has more than 30 years of experience in management positions in the building materials industry. In recent years, Christian Etz was responsible for the dry construction materials activities of the Büechl Group and thus stands for continuity for customers and business partners.

This move will increase the number of employees at Rohrdorfer by 350 to 2650. The new division will be managed by Rohrdorfer Baustoffe Vertriebs GmbH, based in Rohrdorf.

Extensive SAKRET range from a single source

Rohrdorfer has held the SAKRET license for southern Bavaria since 2021. With the takeover of Büechl Baustoff-Beteiligungen in the dry construction materials sector in January 2026, the SAKRET licenses for Saxony, Hungary, and Slovakia were added, as well as a minority stake in Baustoffwerk Rygol GmbH & Co. KG (northern Bavaria). The activities of these five SAKRET license areas are being bundled in the new Dry Construction Materials division. The new companies will remain independent under their existing regional brands and management structures, but will be centrally managed and coordinated by the division. This enables Rohrdorfer to meet the demand for dry construction materials in five adjacent license areas from a single source.

Synergies and shared values form a solid foundation

The Rohrdorfer dry construction materials product range includes dry mortar, composite thermal insulation systems, tile and slab systems, gardening and landscaping, concrete repair, and technical mortar. Many of the SARKET products are used for renovation work and construction in existing buildings. The expansion is therefore an ideal addition to the existing Rohrdorfer product range, which consists of cement, ready-mixed concrete, sand and gravel, concrete products, and precast concrete elements, which mainly serve demand in the new construction segment.

“The new investment and the establishment of a new division will bring us solid growth and greater independence from regional economic fluctuations,” says Mike Edelmann, Managing Director of the Rohrdorfer Group. “Rohrdorfer and SAKRET have many things in common, including a strong focus on sustainability. I am convinced that the future joint path will be a win for our employees and customers.”
