Sandvik expands its drill bit resharpening machine portfolio with mid-range RG550Be

Sandvik introduces the mid-range RG550Be, expanding its innovative drill bit resharpening machine portfolio. The range now covers all operational needs for top hammer (TH) and down-the-hole (DTH) drilling, with high-end, mid-range, and handheld machines designed for safety, ergonomics and performance.

Recent field tests indicate that scheduled resharpening can extend the life of a drill bit by up to ten times and reduce the cost per drilled meter by 43 % or more.

RG600Pro: High-end, semi-automatic, stationary machine for TH and DTH bits (up to 180 mm / 7 inch skirt/shank diameter), featuring multi-bit loading, adaptive programming, recirculating water filtration, ventilation, Wi-Fi connectivity and digital dashboards. RG600Pro remains Sandvik’s flagship solution for high-volume operations.

RG550Be: Mid-range, semi-automatic, stationary, non-pneumatic plug-and-go grinding machine offering integrated water recirculation, filtration and power ventilation. A battery-electric, non-pneumatic rig-mounted version is also available, providing flexibility for on-site operations. Both versions support TH and DTH bits (up to 140 mm / 5.5 inch skirt/shank diameter) with Wi-Fi connectivity, and digital dashboards.

RG500Hh: Handheld, pneumatically driven, high-powered grinder for all bit sizes, ideal for on-rig or smaller operations.

Both RG600Pro and RG550Be offer 24/7 access to performance data, machine monitoring, digital spare parts lists and RFID-enabled grinding cup compatibility.
