Largest order for material handling equipment in the company history
Vale Malaysia Minerals (VMM), a subsidiary of the Brazilian mining group Vale SA with headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, placed an order with the BEUMER Group for the supply of 16 trough belt conveyors. With 100 million US$, this is the largest order in the company history of the intralogistics specialist in the product segment of material handling and loading equipment. The trough belt conveyors will be used by Vale to equip the iron ore distribution centre in Teluk Rubiah, in the Manjung District in Perak (Fig.). The iron ore, which is supplied from Brazil, will be mixed in the facility and further delivered to customers in the Asia-Pacific Region.
The iron ore is transported by huge freighters in the Malacca Strait to the port and storage facilities. There it is transhipped to smaller vessels that transport the raw material to Chinese ports. The construction work is already in full swing.
