Here‘s to a new one

Dear readers

The start of a new year is usually associated with good wishes and resolutions. The gaze is optimistically directed forward – and that is how it should be, although the mood of optimism is once again slowed down by the Corona pandemic. With all due caution and combined with the appropriate hygiene measures, 2022 will be a year full of appointments at trade fairs and congresses – even if now, once again, the trade fairs planned for the first months of the year have been postponed until later in the spring. Economic activities continue to develop in any case, even under the new conditions – so the enforced standstill has also proven to be a motor for forward-looking innovations, especially in the field of digitalisation.

How intelligent technologies can be successfully introduced into operating processes in the bulk solids industry, can be seen in the example of the newly developed remote monitoring technology from Martin Engineering starting on p. 50. Digitisation as a driver in production or application processes is also a topic running through other reports in our Focus Industry column starting on p. 16.

I wish you a good start into the New Year 2022 and every success in implementing all your ideas to advance your industry!
